GRAHAM HUMPHREYS’ STUNNING FRIGHTFEST 2026 POSTER ART REVEALED

The official poster for FrightFest 2026 by longtime FrightFest poster artist Graham Humphreys has just been unveiled, and it looks spectacular. The poster shows the signature FrightFest monster climbing up the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square, where FrightFest is held, while a crowd of terrified onlookers gasp and point. This poster is certainly eye-catching, with Humphreys once again capturing the spirit of FrightFest.

The poster harkens back to the classic posters of old school Japanese Kaiju films, while seeming new and innovative, making it seem perfectly suitable for the UK's most popular horror festival. The festival also features a blood red sky as a backdrop, which seems appropriate, since a very large amount of blood will be splashed across the cinema's screens when FrightFest takes place. The monster is wielding a skeleton puppet, no doubt serving as a grim reminder of what will be in store within the films screened. While a red balloon, reminiscent of Stephen King's IT, idly drifts by, with its sinister face reminding us that just about everything depicted on-screen at FrightFest aims to unsettle viewers. Humphreys perfectly captured the tone and spirit of FrightFest with this poster, and just looking at it will make horror fans even more excited for the five-day event. Horror fans will also know that Humphreys illustrated the original UK posters for THE EVIL DEAD, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD, making him one of the most popular and influential artists in the horror industry. Put simply, if you are a horror fan, you will be familiar with the work of Graham Humphreys. This might just be one of his best FrightFest posters to date, and once again, his artwork has done a fantastic job of promoting the event.

In a statement released by FrightFest, Humphreys’ said, “The iconic monster stays the same, but turning the sky an apocalyptic blood red seems to hit the mood of the brutal heatwaves frying Europe this year, whilst making a hefty reference to a staple of horror movies and the favourite drink of all vampires. In a world scammed by media manipulation and the relentless march of AI, the FrightFest mascot takes a turn at puppeteering and reminds us that when we are stripped of symbols and identities, we are all clattering bags of bones alike”.

Although the line-up for FrightFest has not yet been confirmed, we can expect an assortment of unique and interesting films to be screened at the festival, as is the case every year. From major Hollywood productions to smaller, independent features, there really is something for everyone. The five-day event will run between Thursday Aug 27 & Monday Aug 31, giving those of you who are coming from far away plenty of time to book your overnight accommodation. Since FrightFest is famed for its social aspects in addition to its films, be sure to spend plenty of time socialising with fellow horror fans when you attend. FrightFest really is an event where horror fans can happily meet and congregate, with many attendees having a great time discussing the horror genre with fellow like-minded individuals. Needless to say, anyone who has ever attended before will have countless fond memories from their time at the festival.

It might be hard for regular attendees to believe that FrightFest will be in its twenty-seventh year in July, with the popular festival having started all the way back in 2000. And whether you happen to be a newcomer or someone who has been attending since the very beginning, there is certainly no denying that this year's FrightFest will be an event worth remembering.
