FRIGHTFEST GLASGOW 2026

Nothing says springtime like watching a bunch of brand new horror films from around the world chosen by the good folk of FrightFest in the darkness of the Glasgow Film Theatre. The first major horror festival of the year in the UK includes no less than five world premieres, eight new feature films and a showcase of short films specifically highlighting filmmakers from the UK and Ireland. Kicking off on the 5th of March with the world premiere of Scottish thriller JAILBROKEN, a single location thriller set entirely within the confines of a prison cell, the festival then continues across the next two days with a packed programme that will no doubt sate the appetites of horror fans North of the border.

Demonic possession, cosmic horror, creature features, J-Horror, documentaries and good old fashioned extreme psychological horror and more all get their chance to shine on the large screen. In attendance will be guests as varied as Neil Marshall, actress Shauna MacDonald, Alice Krige, director Howard J. Ford and more. As ever, Gore In The Store will be there to cover the festival with reviews, features and interviews so please check out our page devoted to the festival that will no doubt have us screaming, cowering and maybe even laughing in fine style.
